JSI's Inaugural Symposium

"JOSEPH: Beacon of Hope for the Pilgrim Church"

Our inaugural Symposium will take place online and in the context of the Jubilee of 2025, with the theme of “JOSEPH: Beacon of Hope for the Pilgrim Church.” This theme can accommodate a wide variety of topics, such as, for example:

  • St Joseph: Exemplar of the Theological Virtue of Hope

  • St Joseph and Pope Benedict XVI’s encyclical Spe salvi (Saved in Hope)

  • St Joseph and Pope Francis’s Spes Non Confundit (Hope Does Not Disappoint)

  • Hope-filled Consecration to Saint Joseph

  • St Joseph: Hope of Husbands, Fathers, Workers

  • St Joseph: A Bridge of Hope between East and West

Call for Speakers! Presentations are not to exceed 30 minutes to allow for Q&A afterwards. Presenters must submit their talk abstracts and biographical sketch to JSI (JosephologySociety@gmail.com) before February 1, 2025. Speakers may subsequently submit a paper for consideration for publication in Josephology Studies.

Call for Papers! Submissions of scholarly papers to Josephology Studies are welcome from members of the Society and from non-members. Articles are sent to JSI (JosephologySociety@gmail.com). Authors must format their submissions according to the Antiphon style guide and The Chicago Manual of Style and include a brief biographical sketch. Abstracts will be accepted until May 1; however, June 15, 2025 is the deadline for full papers. Submissions that have been previously published in English will not be considered for publication. Book and Music Reviews are also welcome.
